Happy Spring, friends!
We pray this season of new life and renewal is a sweet reminder of God’s faithfulness in your lives. Thank you, as always, for your continued prayers, encouragement, and support—they mean so much to us.
We have some updates to share, both in our personal rhythms and in ministry:
First, Brenton will no longer be going on the previously anticipated three-month orders. While this changes some of our plans, we’re grateful for more time together as a family.
In light of that, I’ve decided to increase my time serving at the MK Station to two days a week. It’s really been such a joy to work there, from the sweet children to the wonderful staff and volunteers. It’s so encouraging to hear their testimonies and how God brought them to JAARS (many of whom are retired). This ministry continues to be a meaningful support to missionary families, and the need is growing. We would especially appreciate prayer for more volunteers—specifically, two additional people on Mondays and five on Wednesdays.
We’re also encouraged by how God is moving through JAARS. In less than 15 months, JAARS has become the sending organization for more than 40 missionaries, with over 15 already serving overseas. It’s incredible to witness this growth and the expanding impact on global Bible translation efforts. Within the IT Department, a couple of new volunteers have joined the team, which is a blessing—but there is still a need for more people in this area.
Much of our current focus with MBP is partnership development. We are in the process of revamping our website to better reflect both our work with JAARS and MBP, as well as creating new prayer cards and informational materials. These updates will help us communicate our vision and mission more clearly and invite others into what God is doing through our ministry work.
Looking ahead, there are two key opportunities for connection and growth. In April, Brenton plans to attend the Christian Tech Leaders (CTL) gathering in Wisconsin for JAARS. This conference is a valuable time for encouragement, collaboration, and vision with others serving in similar roles. The total cost for this trip is $1,000.
In May, Brenton is fundraising to attend the EMDC tech conference in Thailand as part of our work with MBP. This is a strategic opportunity to engage with others in ministry technology, share resources that support global missions, and improve the MBP app. We are seeking to raise $5,000 to cover travel, lodging, meals, conference fees, and a booth.
On a personal note, we were recently blessed with a wonderful extended visit from dear friends who were between moves with the Army. It was such a refreshing and encouraging time for our whole family.
If you feel led by the Lord to help us reach our conference fund goals or become a recurring financial partner, you can find ways to give below. Thank you again for walking alongside us. Your prayers, generosity, and encouragement allow us to continue serving where God has called us. We’re grateful for each of you.
With grateful hearts,
Brenton, Nicolle, Anastasia, and Theodore Maltbie
Theodore loves playing at the MK Station … as long as mommy is with him.
A perk of living at JAARS is getting to watch airplanes and helicopters take off while playing at the park.
Anastasia set herself up with a blanket and pillow to “read” her Bible just like mommy does..
Swinging with friends!
